Why Every Story Needs a Mystery That Keeps You Turning the Pages

Have you ever told yourself, "Just one more chapter," only to find yourself reading until midnight?

That's the power of a good mystery.

Whether it's a hidden secret, an unexplained event, or a question that refuses to leave your mind, mystery is one of the most effective ways to keep readers invested in a story. It creates tension, encourages curiosity, and makes every revelation feel rewarding.

When I write, I enjoy planting small clues that may not seem important at first but become meaningful later. Sometimes the answer is hidden in plain sight, while other times the truth is far darker than anyone expects. I want readers to question every character and wonder what really happened before the final pieces fall into place.

That's one of the ideas behind my new supernatural detective thriller, my new standalone book I am working on it. What if touching someone could reveal the final five minutes of their life? Would you use that gift to solve crimes, or would the visions become a burden? And what if the memories you uncovered led you to something far more dangerous than a single murderer?

Great mysteries aren't just about discovering who did it. They're about exploring why people make the choices they do and how those choices can change lives forever.

As readers, we chase answers. As writers, we hide them just long enough to make the journey unforgettable.
