Back to Writing, Back to Me

It has been a busy but productive week, and for the first time in a while, I finally feel like things are starting to fall back into place.

One of the biggest victories has been finding a solution for my special editions. After spending what feels like forever trying to work out the best way to fix them, I finally cracked it. It has been such a relief because these editions mean so much to me, and I really wanted them to be exactly as I imagined. There is still plenty to do, but knowing I’ve overcome that hurdle has lifted a huge weight off my shoulders.

I’ve also finished packing all of my books for the Literary Escape Festival in Leeds on the 26th of July. It’s always exciting preparing for an event, even if packing hundreds of books isn’t exactly glamorous! I’m really looking forward to meeting readers, chatting with fellow authors, and spending a day surrounded by people who love books as much as I do. If you’re coming along, please do stop by and say hello. I always love meeting the people who support my stories.

Another thing that has made me smile this week is being back on my social media. I’ve missed connecting with everyone and sharing updates about my writing journey. Unfortunately, TikTok is still causing headaches. It’s still having issues sharing my content properly, and the payment problem remains unresolved. Hopefully they’ll sort everything out soon, because it’s frustrating not being able to use the platform the way I should.

The best part of the week, though, has been returning to writing. After a break, it felt amazing to dive back into my new book, and I’ve already completed two chapters. One of them included my first straight spicy scene, which definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone. Writing intimate scenes is always about finding the right balance between emotion, chemistry, and authenticity, so it was a challenge, but one I’m actually quite proud of. Every book teaches me something new, and this one is certainly doing that already.

Not everything has been easy, though.

The one thing that has been worrying me lately is my head. I haven’t been able to focus on one thing for very long, and it feels like my thoughts are constantly jumping from one place to another. It’s becoming increasingly difficult, especially at work, where staying focused is so important. I’m hoping this is just a temporary phase and that things will settle down soon, because it can be incredibly frustrating when your mind refuses to cooperate.

For now, I’m choosing to focus on the positives. Progress has been made, books are packed, writing has resumed, and despite the bumps along the way, I’m moving forward. Sometimes that’s all we can ask for.

Thank you, as always, for following my journey.
